Now all HgCdTe and InSb infrared detectors with integral amplifiers [KMPV-xx-Jx, KISDP-xx-Jx, KMPCP-xx-J1, and KLD-xx-Jx ] can have an automatic the on/off option. The power to the amplifiers and detector is turned on when the temperature approaches the operating point [77K]. When liquid nitrogen is depleted, power is turned off at temperatures above 100K.
The power should always be turned off when the Dewar is not cold. The automatic on/off feature prevents problems by avoiding an accidental power on and no liquid nitrogen condition. Price for this feature is $150 USD.
